Will there be an exam?

No, no exams will be held on some of our four programs, but there will be both individual assignments and group assignments along the way.
However, after completing the program, all participants receive a certificate from the Scandinavian Executive Institute and IMD or INSEAD.

Is it possible to use the gross pay scheme if the employer cannot / will pay?

Yes, it is absolutely possible. The gross pay scheme is a very lucrative scheme if your employer cannot or will not pay for your education. By using the gross pay scheme you save around half the cost of tax.

Is there an alumni network that you can use after completing your education?

Yes, in the Scandinavian Executive Institute we offer membership in the Executive Forum, which is our unique learning forum for future and former participants at all our programs. 
In the Executive Forum, we offer four annual masterclasses with top professors from the internationally recognized business schools, IMD and INSEAD.
In addition, you will experience a strong and rewarding network of like-minded leaders and top executives from Danish and Norwegian companies and organizations that you can interact with. Read more about the Executive Forum here

Do I get a certificate?

Yes, after completing your program, all participants will receive a certificate from the Scandinavian Executive Institute and IMD or INSEAD.

Hotel and Catering – How does it work?

At all programs and on all modules of these, we make sure to book hotel and catering for you. Accommodation will always be near Campus, so there is a short transport route to Campus. You will also always stay with the other participants of the program.
Please note, however, that hotel and catering costs are not included in the price of the education itself, but are billed separately.

What is the Online Study Portal?

You get access to an online study portal when you register for one of our programs. Via a log-in to the study portal you will find material, practical information and answers to a number of questions related to your specific training course.

Who answers questions in the Scandinavian Executive Institute?

Who provides flight tickets?

You have to make sure you book flights to all modules on the programme. However, we usually recommend a number of flight times, which often fit well with the individual program start.

What level should my English be?

Since English is a common language at all programs, you must be able to understand English at business level, both in writing and speaking, and formulate yourself in English.

It is, however, very important to be aware that both participants and, not least, professors and teachers represent a large number of countries and therefore everyone “has their own accent”. It is in no way necessary to be “perfect” in English or American pronunciation – together we always find a way to educational communicate and help each other.

Where do the other participants come from?

The participants at Scandinavian Executive Institute’s programmes are almost all from Scandinavia – especially from Denmark and Norway. You will take skilled managers, top executives and board members from a variety of industries and different organizations – private as well as public.

Where is IMD located?

IMD stands for International Institute for Management Development. The Business School, located in Lausanne, Switzerland, is one of the world’s leading business schools within its area. The school has since 2008 topped the Financial Times list of global top management programs.

Where is INSEAD located?

INSEAD is located in Fontainebleau, France, about an hour’s drive south of Paris. INSEAD is known as “The Business School for the World” and the educational institution has won numerous awards and international awards.

How many participants are there on each course?

The number of participants varies for each program, but will normally be between 20 and 40 participants.

How many years of experience should I have to participate?

There is no requirement for a specific number of years of experience to participate in one of our education programs. But common to all programs is that the participants have a number of years of practical experience as either managers, top executives or board members.

How much preparation time is needed for each program?

All Scandinavian Executive Institute’s education courses consist of 1-3 modules. Leading Strategic Change INSEAD consists of one module, the Executive Board Program INSEAD consists of two modules and the Executive Management Program INSEAD and the Leadership Acceleration Program IMD consists of three modules.

As a general rule, you should expect to spend approximately 15-20 hours of preparation before each module.

Between Modules 2 and 3 on the Executive Management Program you also have to do a project assignment, and in this connection you have to expect to meet with your project group 2-3 times and spend about 20 hours.

Module 2 on the Leadership Acceleration Program IMD is somewhat different from the other programs, as this is a module that consists of eight weeks of e-learning. During these eight weeks one should expect to devote 5-6 hours per week to the study.

Admission requirements – are there any?

There are no special admission requirements for the various programs, but of course we always talk to the participants to ensure that their level matches the level of the program and the other participants.

How do I find the right education?

Payment – what do I do?

Once you have signed up for a program, you will shortly receive an invoice of 25 percent of the education fee. The remaining 75 percent of the amount is billed 60 days before start-up. If you register less than 60 days before the start of the program, you will receive an invoice for the total amount.
The cost of hotel and catering are on a separate invoice.

How do I get from Geneva to Lausanne?

If you participate in the Leadership Acceleration Program IMD, this training takes place in Lausanne, Switzerland. You land by plane in Geneva and from there there are many train connections to Lausanne. You can book a ticket here: www.raileurope-world.com.

Can I cancel my participation?

Up to 60 days before the start of the program, you can cancel your participation and get 75% of the amount refunded. If you cancel less than 60 days before start, you can unfortunately not get the amount refunded. However, you can choose to send another participant at no additional cost, or transfer your participation to the next program by paying 25 percent of the training fee.

Does one of the programs require a specific training or exam?

No, there are no specific training or exam requirements to attend one of our four programs. Some participants have a long higher education, and others are “autodidacts” – but they may have, on the other hand, an extensive practical experience.
