What does our previous customers think about our program

Betina Nygaard

CEO, Scanmarket

“The Executive Board Programme is at a very high level and the professors and experts are extremely skilled. The academic level is high, but is nevertheless served in a down-to-earth manner – it is not just theories that “fly around the room”, but continuously present cases that illuminate and support relevant issues. In short, I am really excited about the whole program and implementation. One of the most important things I take home is the composition of a board. So how important diversity is to the dynamics and effectiveness of the board, so that good results are achieved that satisfy the owners and which can form the basis for good sparring for the CEO. In addition, the program has given me, overall, an important helicopter perspective on board work in general, and I have got some very concrete takeaways that I can use directly in my own boardroom – for example how we create better structure, visible goals and evaluate ourselves and ensure, that the board consists of the right competences. In conclusion, I must give a huge compliment to the networking aspect of the program: Much of the participants with different backgrounds made us really save each other well. There was created a familiarity and an openness that I have not experienced elsewhere – so also on that level I come home with a very useful luggage.”

Head of Nordea Ventures, Nordea

“The Executive Board Programme INSEAD is a board education at a high academic level, and I have gained a lot from the program. The program’s international focus was important to me, as I work with boards in a number of different countries and thus must be able to handle board work in an international context. The teaching at INSEAD was unsurpassed, and Professor Stanislav’s passion and broad experience in board work have really given me valuable knowledge. I have become sharper and have gained a greater understanding of the demands, responsibilities and duties that one has in the board work. I have used my new knowledge in various contexts, both in boards I myself sit in, but also in relation to the executive colleagues, I advise in relation to their board positions. The teaching is academically founded, but still very practical and usable, and already after the first module in Denmark I used learning from the program. Finally, I have got a fantastic network of like-minded board members that I can really draw on – in many different ways.”

“The Executive Board Programme INSEAD is a very inspiring board education at a high academic level. The whole program, both for the professional content, the teachers and the practical implementation, has really been good – everything ran after a string. Personally, I have an ambition, within the foreseeable future, to move from exclusively to the CEO role to also go into board work. In this context, the program has dressed me up and provided me with a good foundation for taking the next important step. Some of what has been most important to me in the program is the knowledge I have gained about the corporate governance model, the legal and regulatory aspects, and the role of the Board of Directors in relation to the Executive Board. I also greatly appreciated the many good and tangible cases that were presented and not least the simulation, where we actually held a very concrete and real-life board meeting. The sessions with Stanislav Shekshnia and the other professors at INSEAD are perhaps some of the best teaching experiences I have had, and internally within the group we also had some really good discussions and sparring about board topics – so also in a network perspective, the program has been a great one success for me.”

Michael Bindseil

Regional Vice President, COWI

“The Executive Board Program INSEAD is – without comparison – the best boarding training I’ve attended – and I’ve tried a little differently. Both the course in Kolding and at INSEAD in France were absolutely fantastic. Not least, the topic of how to get a board to play with the company’s CEO was very exciting. But also the teaching of shareholder value, which is about how important it is that you manage to think long-term, was really an eye-opener. Both the general academic level and the level of the teachers have to a great extent impressed. It is not often that one finishes an education where one thinks “here there is nothing to put your finger on”, but that is the conclusion in this case. The exchange between theory, practical cases and films – it all sat “right in the closet”. The knowledge I have gained, I can apply immediately in a couple of the boards I sit in internally in COWI. But I also have ambitions to build a board of directors and find some board posts in a year or two. With the Executive Board Program in my luggage, I strongly believe that I will succeed.”

Lise Vestergaard

Executive Business Consultant, Vestergaard Consulting

“I have enjoyed the Executive Board Programme INSEAD very well and am very excited. I advise both management groups and boards in my consulting business, and in that context I needed new inspiration and knowledge within some international framework. Besides getting the formal legal rules in place, I was strengthened in the elements that contribute to effective board work and create the best conditions for making some qualitative decisions. Fortune 500 companies take it seriously when talking about “a diverse workforce” as one of the keys to growth and success in non-developing countries in the future – and by extension INSEAD has the same approach to the composition of future boards. Thus, I was especially inspired by – and strengthened in the areas that covered diversity, group dynamics in the boards, the insight into the hidden traps in decision making and risk minimization, as well as the long-term shareholder value creation in various company forms. In addition, I took quite specific tools home to set the framework for the board work going forward and not least the idea of systematizing and evaluating it. All in all, I therefore return home with lots of inspiration, an upgraded toolbox and a fantastic network of talented people with different approaches and experiences. In summary, the international teachers had an inspiring approach to the board work, and the program’s simulations of realistic “business cases” along the way gave a very good connection between theory and practice. It can clearly be recommended!”
